Music Construction Set

Will Harvey's Music Construction Set turns musical notation into an approachable graphical construction kit. Notes are selected and placed directly onto a staff, after which the computer can play the composition back. Speed, volume, sound quality and key can be adjusted, while finished music can be printed. Built-in tunes, icon-driven commands and joystick control were intended to make it accessible to newcomers without limiting more serious experimentation.

Ariolasoft's 1985 catalogue offered the original, non-Deluxe program for Commodore 64/128, Atari 8-bit, Apple II and IBM PC/PCjr. Deluxe Music Construction Set was a later redesign for Amiga and Macintosh and is not included as this catalogue entry.
