1987 Viz Design Ariolasoft Amstrad CPC

The cancelled 1987 launch

Viz Design had previously worked with Ariolasoft on Bride of Frankenstein. Werewolves of London was heavily previewed in 1987 as a major forthcoming full-price release for Ariolasoft's Viz Design label.

The Amstrad CPC edition did reach production in 1987, and surviving original Ariolasoft retail copies show that a small number made it into circulation. Ariolasoft UK ceased trading around the time of the intended launch, however, preventing the planned wider release.

The title was subsequently picked up by Mastertronic and received its widespread commercial release in 1989 as a £1.99 budget game.
